The super fight between two of biggest names in the boxing world today, Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder is off, for now. On the 26th July the news broke that the two teams of the respective fighters could not agree on terms of the contract for the fight.
The details of why the fight isn't happening have yet to be released but it doesn't stop fans and even other boxers speculating on why there will be no fight between theses two heavyweights. One boxing fan tweeted his thoughts on the situation, "Wilder knew exactly what he was doing.... prolonging Eddie Hern offer, knowing full well AJ was running out of time to fight his mandatory in Povetkin". Another fan tweeted his frustration, "This is why nobody watches boxing anymore lmao". Of course former world champion, Tyson Fury, has had his say stating that Joshua is "afraid" of getting "chinned" by Wilder. Eddie Hern has come out on twitter to defend himself and his team even going as far as to confront Wilder himself after some interesting tweets by Wilder. Joshua is yet to comment on the fight not happening as from recent images he is enjoying his summer.
Joshua will now face Alexander Povetkin this fight will take place in September which will be one of the hardest fights in Joshua career. Povetkin is coming from a knockout victory against one of the two men to ever knockdown Joshua, David Price.
Every boxing fan wants this fight to happen. For years there has not been a dream super fight in the heavyweight division. This fight would define a generation of boxing. lets just hope it doesn't happen five years to late.
